ER: Again??

Tim went outside to take Ellie to Papa Murphy's to get some cheese bread for dinner last night.

Not too long after that, I heard "OW!!"

Then he came back in, hunched over and holding his hand.

Turns out he took a second to fill the empty garbage can with some bags from our growing pile of garbage in the garage (we have a nasty habit of not remembering to put the garbage out on garbage day). When he pushed down on the top bag, in an attempt to put another bag in, there was a tin can lid standing on it's side. This lid sliced into the fatty part of his hand under his pinky on his right hand.

SO...after a call to his parents to come watch the girls...we went to the ER for 3 stitches. Another plus we've found to living in a small town is that you can get in and out of the ER in a half hour!

The cute part was that Ellie was really concerned about Daddy's hand, after all she was standing right there when he yelled and ran inside...after we got Tim a towel and he was sitting on the couch doing the "lots of pressure" thing...Ellie came running me saying "Ouch!" She was in need of a towel for the side of her hand too! When I gave one of Anna's burp rags, she wrapped it around her hand and ran out to the couch to sit by Daddy. I tried really hard to get a picture, after all how often does your 2 year old and your husband end up with the same injury?

I didn't get the picture I wanted because as soon as the camera came out - Ellie wanted to take pictures - so her injury and her "towel" were totally forgotten.

So.

We had an interesting dinner hour last night....but we still got our cheese bread - a few hours later!
