FIRST GOOSE EGG!

It's small but it's there!
She went head first into the front step at Maria's house.
Poor baby!

Christmas Tree 2007

My Mom had a small fake tree in her room that is now our Christmas tree. YAY!
We weren't sure how Ellie would react to it. So far it's ok. She knows she's not supposed to touch the ornaments ( only 1 broken so far - but that was before it even made it to the tree)
so when she does and we say no - she runs and throws herself on our black cubes things
in front of the couch. It's pretty cute. And NO, I'm not pregnant. The fourth stocking is for the dust bunnies. I'm cheap. I didn't want to buy a 3 letter word only to buy a 4 letter word sometime in the next couple years.

Thanksgiving Mathiesen Style

Tim's side of the fam had Thanksgiving on Saturday - our first time hosting!
I got to use my china and goblets for the first time!
We cooked the turkey too. It was pretty good but pretty gross before we cooked it.
Jen Stumbo had to put it in the roaster cause I couldn't touch it. Ew, ew, ew.
Summer's 18 months & Ellie's 14 months

The line from her chin going down is drool.
If you look close you can see the "drop" at the end of it.

Our attempt

The Stumbos have a really cute picture on their site of the three of them laying on the floor from above that's b & w. I love it. So in our playtime on the blowup mattress we tried.

We failed.

Ellie and the Mattress

Our good friends, Ben & Jen, are staying with us tonight so Jen can suprise Ben (for his birthday) with Dane Cook tickets.

So after they left and before Ellie's bedtime, we blew up the mattress.

It's loud.

Ellie ran.

She was VERY unsure.

But when it was done she LOVED it.

So we took some time and played!

It was one of those moments we won't forget.

And we'll tell her about it down the road. :)

Snow Pack!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We were at the Larsen side of Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving day. It ended up being a rather silly dinner for the youngest of the bunch, as you can tell in the next few pics.....She was quite the entertainment.

Hey now, that's mine!

We gave her a spoon to use for dinner last night.
It was mommy's favorite meal, CHICKEN CHEESY BROCCOLLI.
Ellie had the same food on her plate........
Mine, I guess was better.
BUT it was MINE!
BUT #2, I am a loving mother and stayed calm cause it was cute - hence the pics.
So when she looked at me and wanted more.
I said, "No. It's mommy's."
There was only a hint of grrrrr in my response.
SO when she did it again....my grrr got worse.
But she got cuter when she was trying so hard to get my food.
I hope by us letting her do this for an evening doesn't mean we have to eat in seperate rooms at Thanksgiving.

Mommy's get away!!

I went on a quilt retreat with my good friend Jess Wiersbe this weekend at Camp Lebanon. As with every year, we have tons of laughter, tons of food, not so much sleep and a varied amount quilting (depending on the person...wink, wink). I got 2 quilts done and another one cut out.

This is Jess and her sister Beth is behind her.
Jess scrapbooked the first day and quilted the second.
We also had an opportunity through Camp Lebanon and Kids Against Hunger to package meals for the people in Haiti that are suffering from the hurricanes. Each package feeds six people and as a camp we packaged almost 22,000 meals. I put the chicken powder in the bag and it would eventually get passed to Jess who sealed the bags shut.
My cool hairnet and apron.
This is a "Dick and Jane" quilt I made for Ellie for christmas. It turned out really neato. I didn't get a picture of the other one I made for a friend-of-a-friend that's gonna have a baby any day!

Ellie's week in Fergus

Ellie spent this entire last week up in Fergus with Grandma & Grandpa Mathiesen. I heard she was having lots of fun and did very well! She learned "Inai Inai Baa" which translates to "Not here, not here, boo!" in english. It's the Japanese peek-a-boo with kids. It's really cute to see her cover her face when you start saying it.
She got to see Great Grandma & Grandpa too.
Great Grandpa's Ukulele (not sure the how to spell or play it).
Thanks Grandpa & Grandma for a great week. It's your turn to nap now!

There's also a few pictures of her playdate with Ava Stumbo on the Stumbo's page.
The link is on the list over there ------------->
They're great pics! Thanks Jen for putting them up!
